STOCKTON - It was easy for Delta College men's basketball coach Rich Ressa to calmly man the sidelines as his upperclassmen took care of business on the floor against Merced College.
The Mustangs offense got off to a smooth start led by sophomores Jovian Cormier and David Lerma, and Delta only trailed once in the second half as the Mustangs fought off the Blue Devils for a 78-70 victory in the opening round of the 50th Delta Holiday Tournament Friday evening at Blanchard Gymnasium.
