STOCTKTON -- With playoffs looming, the Delta men's and women's basketball teams both notched important victories Friday night at Blanchard Gym.
The Mustangs earned Big 8 Conference season splits with American River College. The Mustang women avenged a four-point loss to the Beavers with an 81-69 victory before men held on to win 76-72. In their first meeting on Jan. 10, American River defeated the Delta men by26 points.
Delta coach Rich Ressa said the sting of the 88-62 loss inspired his players to prepare better.
"Our mentality is (different)," he said. "We're growing up and maturing as a team.
