STOCKTON – When he’s not on the pitcher’s mound, Alex Patterson enjoys hunting. And he sees several similarities between his two passions.
Both pursuits take concentration, patience and skill, and it’s important to understand your prey, or batter.
Patterson has spent this season bagging win after win, and Delta College’s (33-9) ace will start the opener against College of Marin (28-13) in the Northern California Super Regional at 2 p.m. Friday at Delta’s Nick Cecchetti Field. The best-of-three series continues Saturday with Game 3 Sunday, if necessary.
Patterson has led the Mustangs’ rotation all season, and has delivered a stellar 11-1 record with a 1.
