Mustangs hope to slow high-scoring Eagles

STOCKTON — Gina Johnson has preached defense the entire season to her team.

Today she'll find out of all the coaching and encouraging will help the Delta Mustangs shut down the top offense in the state.

No. 5 Delta travels to meet No. 4 College of the Siskiyous at 7 p.m. today in the second round of the California Community College Athletic Association Northern Regionals. It pits the Mustangs' tenacious "D" against the Eagles offense, which is ranked first in the state in scoring with 97.3 points game.

Delta knows what it will see when it takes the 270-mile trip to Weed.
