An at-home doubleheader this past Saturday saw both the Pacific women’s and men’s basketball teams start their seasons in victorious fashion after matches against Sonoma State University and Carroll College, respectively.
The women were the first to take the court, kicking off the evening at around 5 p.m. in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
The Tigers started with a high intensity, full-court press, but SSU managed to tire out their defenders and slip past with short passes and quick shots. A few early baskets from forward Erin Butler ‘16 put Pacific on the board and kept the score even throughout the first quarter.
