Anthony Townes made the Pacific men’s basketball team’s two trips to Southern California last week worthwhile, and he’s being rewarded for it.
The senior forward was named the West Coast Conference’s men’s basketball player of the week following two performances that helped the Tigers (9-4) defeat Long Beach State (74-68) and Cal State Northridge (79-77).
Townes was key in Pacific’s perfect weekend and claiming its ninth victory on the season, as he averaged 19 points with 70.6 percent shooting from the field and 93.3 percent shooting from the free throw line. In addition, he averaged 7.5 rebounds.
