STOCKTON – Allie Walljasper has been eagerly awaiting her chance to pitch back in San Joaquin County. On a chilly Thursday night, the Manteca native brought the heat.
She allowed just three hits and struck out 10 while leading No. 7 LSU to a 9-0 five-inning win against Pacific at Bill Simoni Field. It was the first day of the Libby Matson Tournament, which continues into the weekend.
Walljasper, who graduated from Sierra High School and is a senior at LSU, said it was good to be back.
“It was awesome to get to play in front of all my friends and family,” Walljasper said.
