Loretta Kakala is coming home.
At least, as close to home as she can get.
Kakala, a former Manteca High basketball star and a McDonald’s All-American selection, will transfer from Louisville to play for the Pacific women’s basketball team, the Tigers announced Tuesday.
Kakala, a 6-foot-3 sophomore center who was ranked as the No. 25 player in her recruiting class and the No. 2 player at her position, will be eligible to play in the 2019-2020 season.
At Manteca, Kakala was the school’s first McDonald’s All-American, as well as the first All-State selection. She averaged a double-double as a senior with 15.
