Manteca High senior Loretta Kakala had 11 points, six rebounds and two steals for the West team, in an 80-74 overtime loss to the East in the McDonald's Girls All-American Game on Wednesday in Chicago.
Kakala, who will play for the University of Louisville, is a two-time first team All-Area selection for The Record (as an East Union freshman and a Manteca senior).
She averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks for the outright Valley Oak League champion Buffaloes this season. Kakala is the fourth McDonald's All-American from San Joaquin County, joining St. Mary's Jacki Gemelos, Chelsea Gray and Afure Jemerigbe.
