BERKELEY, Calif. - A nine run first inning doomed the Tigers as they fell 13-5 (5) to #23 California on Wednesday. The loss drops the Tigers to 6-8 on the year and propels the Bears to 13-1. Kenya Lindstrom got the start and allowed three earned in one inning with a strikeout. Megan Walters threw 3.2 innings in relief, allowing three earned runs and striking out a career-high six. Samantha Owen went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run and two RBIs.

The Bears got on the board first after Rood led off with a triple and Reed singled her in.
