STOCKTON — A high school boys basketball team can be resilient in less than 24 hours.
The Tokay High boys basketball team did just that on Saturday afternoon. Taking part in the first-ever High School Classic at Stockton Arena against Venture Academy, Tokay found ways to put the basketball through the net. But Venture Academy held on for a 74-60 win.
Venture Academy held a 31-13 lead at halftime. But Tokay (0-4) displayed its resiliency that begun in the third quarter. That began when Hamza El Kheidi scored a combined seven points within two minutes of the quarter; that included hitting two 3-pointers and made 1 of 2 free throws.
