University of the Pacific’s women’s basketball team put this one away early.
The Tigers built a 27-point lead in the first half on their way to a 74-48 win against San Francisco on Thursday at Spanos Center. Guard Valerie Higgins had 17 points to lead Pacific, which improved to 16-8, 9-5 in the West Coast Conference.
The Dons (6-19, 2-11) tried to keep pace and trailed by eight after a quarter. But the Tigers put the game away in the second quarter, outscoring USF 23-4 and leading 42-15 at halftime.
Brooklyn McDavid and Lincoln High product Lianna Tillman had 12 points each and Ameela Li had 10 for Pacific.
