Pacific’s men’s water polo team left Berkeley with a big win on Sunday.
The sixth-ranked Tigers knocked off No. 5 Cal 14-12 at Spieker Aquatics Complex, thanks to a four-goal effort from Jeremie Cote and the strong play of goalkeeper Jon Barry.
Pacific earned just its eighth win over the Golden Bears in program history and starts the season 2-0 for the fourth consecutive season.
“That’s a huge early season win against a perennial powerhouse,” Pacific head coach James Graham said. “The whole team did a great job. It was an exciting back and forth match in front of a big crowd.
