STOCKTON – A late Tigers turnover in overtime proved to be the difference as Loyola Marymount capitalized for the winning goal and sudden-death 2-1 victory over Pacific on Saturday evening on Knoles Field at UOP.
The hard-fought contest was decided in the seventh minute of overtime as a Pacific defender tried to clear the ball outside the box, but it instead landed in front of a Lions attacker.
Tigers goalie Ethan Bandre alertly raced out to deflect the ball outside the box and tried to get back on his line, but Loyola sophomore Jack Sauls centered the ball back to sophomore teammate Danny Garcia, who one-touched the ball from directly in front of the goal past Bandre for the winner.
