The Pacific baseball team is off to its best start in 24 years.
The Tigers beat Chicago State 9-3 Sunday, finishing off a three-game sweep in the first homestand of the year. Designated hitter Nate Verline went 4 for 5 with a triple and three RBI in the win for Pacific, which with the win started a season 3-0 for the first time since 1994.
Kevin Sandri had a pair of triples for the Tigers, with Grant Mora going 3 for 4 with a pair of RBI. Carter Hayes and James Free also drove in two for Pacific.
