Luke Pavillard scored a game-high five goals as the sixth-ranked Pacific men’s water polo team posted a dramatic 13-12 win over No. 7 Pepperdine on Saturday in Malibu.
Pacific (10-8) improved to a perfect 3-0 record in the Golden Coast Conference, giving the Tigers sole possession of first place after beating the Waves (12-10, 2-1). Pepperdine dropped its second consecutive match and evened out this year’s series against the Tigers at 1-1.
The Waves had no answer for the reigning GCC Player of the Week as Pavillard took over in the second quarter scoring three goals in the second to give Pacific a 7-4 lead at halfime.
