The Stockton Heat grabbed a quick lead, but lost a marathon shootout.
The Heat’s two-goal advantage disappeared, and the Bakersfield Condors eventually won an 11-round shootout to claim a 3-2 victory on Friday night in front of a crowd of 2,401 at Stockton Arena. The Heat is now 5-1-1 this season.
Stockton looked good in the early going as Dillon Dube scored a shorthanded goal 16:08 into the contest. The Heat went up 2-0 in the second on a goal by Glenn Gawdin at 12:38.
Luke Esposito scored for Bakersfield late in the second period, and Joe Gambardella tied it up for the Condors with an unassisted goal 1:20 into the third.
