The fifth annual CIF State Swim and Dive Championships took place this weekend at the Clovis Olympic Swim Complex in Clovis. Mixed into the 907 student-athletes from 236 schools in the competition, a number of local athletes had strong performances.
Elliot Christian sophomore Collin Brownell finished fourth overall in the boys diving competition, with Lodi senior Madison Liu taking 15th in the girls equivalent. And, in the girls swimming competition, Lodi’s Madeline Woznick was 16th in the 50-yard freestyle.
Brownell was a point out of second place after his first eight dives of the day, but missed on his next attempt.
