The Delta men and women’s swim teams were at De Anza College in Cupertino this weekend for the CCCAA State Championships. Altogether, the programs combined to break six school records and win three individual championships.
The women’s team finished fifth, which ranks as the best finish in program history. Maddie Wittkowske led the way, winning both the 200-yard freestyle and the 1650 free while taking second in the 500 free.
Wittkowske’s times of 5:03.72 in the 500 and 1:51.71 in the 200 free were school records.
Other strong finishes for the women’s team include Leti Mosqueda (seventh in the 100 free), Maddie Lincoln (sixth in the 400 IM) and Natalee Lamie, who set a school record on the way to a fifth-place finish in the 200 fly.
