The fight for the Delta softball team’s season begins at 10 a.m. today.
The Mustangs fell 5-3 to San Mateo in the CCCAA Championship Tournament on Saturday in Bakersfield, moving to the elimination bracket of the competition.
Delta (37-7) was scheduled to play Sacramento City at 5 p.m. Saturday, but poor weather postponed the game to this morning.
Against San Mateo, Mikaela Ferreira went 3 for 4 with a double and Ashley Duval hit a solo home run, with teammate Tawny Deerinck adding a pair of hits. Delaney Pamplin (28-6) took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs on five hits in six innings on the mound.
