STOCKTON — The biggest cheerleaders Thursday at Spanos Center weren’t the 619 fans in the stands.
They were Pacific volleyball coach Greg Gibbons and his staff.
The Tigers (12-9, 6-3 West Coast Conference) practically gave their coaches the night off with a balanced effort, fueled by a strong service game and the growing effectiveness of redshirt junior setter Jessica Diederich in their 25-15, 25-23, 25-21 sweep over Santa Clara (12-9, 3-6). Pacific hosts USF at noon Saturday.
“I have to hand it to the girls,” Gibbons said. “They played from beginning to finish a complete match.
