STOCKTON – Brittany Aoyama isn’t swimming laps these days.

It’s been years since she’s been able to say that.

This summer, she’s taking it easy with her family and friends before she attends Cal State Northridge in the fall to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy.

Aoyama has earned a break.

The 22-year-old Stockton native and Linden High graduate had a brilliant swimming and academic career at Boise State, graduating earlier this month as the Broncos’ all-time leader in individual-event victories with 64, and holding a degree in health science.
