STOCKTON — That the Pacific men’s basketball team ended its regular-season home opener with a remarkable run doesn’t make losing any less sour.
After a second half where the Tigers appeared buried, and for a short stretch, incapable of summoning offense, it brought life to Spanos Center.
But UC Davis opened the second half on a 10-0 run and held off Pacific in the waning moments for a 62-58 nonconference win on Wednesday night.
The former Big West Conference rivals provided a theatrical final few minutes of play. And it was a pivotal test for Pacific, against a team that made the NCAA Tournament last season.
