STOCKTON – Delta forced two big turnovers in the fourth quarter Saturday to take the lead over Diablo Valley only to have key penalties keep the Mustangs from pulling away as the Vikings scored with seconds remaining for a 31-30 non-conference win at DeRicco Field.
“When you have the lead at the end of the game and you have the ball, you have to find a way to close that game out and come out with a win,” Delta coach Gary Barlow said. “It was frustrating, but there are going to be some learning opportunities and we are going to be able to look at it and see things that maybe we could have done differently.
