STOCKTON, Calif. - Senior Myra Lakdawala has broken the Pakistani Women's National record in the 5000m with a time of 19:03.10 this past weekend at the Johnny Mathis Invitational. Lakdawala bested the previous mark of 19:07.61 that was set in June of 2006 by Olympic runner Sumaira Zahoor.

"It feels great! I'm still on the high from it and hopefully I can improve on the 5k time later on this season," said Lakdawala.

Lakdawala now holds two Pakistani records as she owns the fastest time in the 3000m with a time of 11:18.96 that she sent in July of 2012 in Great Britain.
