Pacific baseball's junior catcher James Free became the 94th Pacific player in program history to reach the ranks of professional baseball after signing with the Cincinnati Reds organization.
Free is the fourth Tiger to go pro this year after right-handed pitchers Ryan Shreve and Samson Abernathy and outfielder turned catcher Tyler Ryan were all drafted on June 5. Free, who was one of the top catchers in the West Coast Conference for the past three years, will be assigned to a team in the Reds organization in the coming days.
