STOCKTON — Erin Butler stood quietly on the sideline with her hands folded behind her head, embodying the shock of the Pacific women’s basketball team.
The Tigers squandered a 14-point second-half lead to Loyola Marymount, capped by Leslie Lopez-Wood’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer that stunned Butler and her teammates. LMU edged Pacific 63-60 on Saturday afternoon at Spanos Center, snapping the Tigers’ four-game home winning streak and pushing them down to seventh in the West Coast Conference standings.
“It’s a heartbreaker,” Davis said, “when you have a lead, you give it up, you get it back to a tie and have a shot to win it.
