STOCKTON — Senior forward Desire Finnie wasn’t Pacific coach Bradley Davis’s first choice to take a game-saving shot during Wednesday’s non-league game against the visiting University of Central Florida Knights.
But it was Finnie’s improbable 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds left in regulation that sent the contest in overtime, and minutes later a crowd of 238 fans saw Pacific cap its big comeback with a 78-74 victory at Spanos Center.
Finnie had never made a game-tying shot to send a game into overtime, and wouldn’t have Wednesday had teammate Jessica Blakeslee made her shot with nine seconds left in the game.
