STOCKTON, Calif. - Pacific's John Hedges was named Golden Coast Conference men's water polo Player of the Week on Thursday. The freshman goalie led the Tigers to a win over No. 6 UC Irvine last weekend.
Hedges, a freshman from Perth, Australia, registered 14 saves in the 11-5 win by the No. 5 Tigers' win over the Anteaters. He also recorded four steals as the Pacific defense smothered UC Irvine's offense all game long. The Anteaters scored three of their five goals with a 6-on-5 power play as Hedges surrendered just two while playing at even strength.
