After two seasons at University of the Pacific, Ryan Garko is headed back to professional baseball.
The university announced on Wednesday that Garko has resigned as head coach of the baseball program and has accepted a position with the Los Angeles Angels. Chris Rodriguez, who has been on the Tigers’ coaching staff since last season, has been named the interim head coach.
Following the 2020 season, Pacific will hold a national search to hire a permanent head coach.
Garko spent two seasons at Pacific after managing the Double A Tulsa Drillers for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
