STOCKTON – South Carolina had its National Player of the Year candidate A'ja Wilson on the bench in foul trouble for long stretches.
But the Gamecocks didn't miss a beat without her.
Junior guard Kaela Davis scored a game-high 23 points and South Carolina withstood a furious late charge but held on to beat Florida State 71-64 in the NCAA Women's Stockton Regional final in front of 3,134 on Monday at Stockton Arena.
The Gamecocks (31-4) were the final team to punch its ticket to the Final Four and will play Stanford, champions of the Lexington Regional, on Friday in Dallas.
