STOCKTON - The Pacific softball team’s freshmen ruled the diamond Sunday at Bill Simoni Field as the Tigers finished off a three-game West Coast Conference sweep of Loyola Marymount.
Freshmen Caitlyn Sung, Hailey Reed and Ralene Estrada combined for eight of Pacific’s nine hits in the Tigers’ 5-1 victory. The trio were a perfect 7-for-7 through four innings as Pacific (21-24, 4-5 WCC) built a 4-0 advantage in front of 200 fans.
“The freshmen, I think, have done a really, really good job all year,” Pacific coach Brian Kolze said. “Obviously today we saw how confident they are becoming in themselves.
