STOCKTON – Vicente Trejo came to Delta College to play running back. But the situation quickly changed.
Due to injuries he was asked to move to linebacker, and the freshman from Galt has quickly turned into one of the more proficient tacklers in California.
Trejo is tied for 12th in the state in solo tackles entering the Mustangs’ contest against College of the Sequoias at 1 p.m. today at Delta’s DeRicco Field. Trejo has 37 solo tackles and 13 assists, and has been a bright spot for the Mustangs (1-6, 0-2 Valley Conference) during a tough season.
