STOCKTON — After one of the biggest hits of his young collegiate career, Preston Moebius backtracked into the outfield, avoiding the wave of his euphoric teammates sprinting toward him.
Moebius, a freshman and utility player on the Pacific baseball team, belted a walk-off, two-run single deep into left-center field for a 12-11 nonconference win over Fresno State on Wednesday at Klein Family Field.
As his fellow Tigers drew closer, Moebius realized how outnumbered he was.
“It was kind of scary at first,” Moebius said with a smile. “They were coming in a straight line, so I was just trying to dodge them.
