Free Ranked Among Nation's Top Catchers

STOCKTON, Calif. - Sophomore catcher James Free II has been ranked as a top five catcher in D1Baseball.com's annual Position Power Rankings.

The Walnut, Calif. native had a standout rookie season carrying a .343 batting with a .407 on base percentage and a .652 slugging percentage. Free also knocked in 54 mixing in 14 homers. Defensively, Free spent 44 games behind the dish collecting 219 putouts and 29 assists.

Amongst all West Coast Conference catchers, Free was top of the charts in home runs, extra base hits (28), total bases (118), slugging percentage, RBI, batting average, and OPS.
