STOCKTON — If anyone is wondering why the Delta College Mustangs are just a win away from a trip to the state tournament, they should watch a video of Saturday’s game.
It was a display of Delta softball at its most efficient and productive. The Mustangs moved runners in scoring position, hit for power, and backed it all up with another strong performance by Peyton Rose, the state’s winningest pitcher.
The result was a convincing 6-1 win against Cosumnes River in the Northern California Super Regional at Delta’s Bucky Layland Softball Complex.
