LANSING, Mich. – A tough double overtime battle pushed the University of the Pacific field hockey team to victory over the Michigan State University Spartans, 2-1.

- Less than 10 minutes into the first half, Gaby de Kock pushed the ball to Nthabi Maine for the stop to set Kriekie van Wyk up for the goal off the penalty corner to give Pacific a 1-0 lead over the Spartans.
- In the final five minutes of the first, the game started getting physical as three green cards were handed out between both teams.
