VISALIA — Edwin Diaz scored on a flyout in the third inning, leading the Stockton Ports to a 6-2 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Monday afternoon at Recreation Park.
Diaz scored on the play to give the Ports a 1-0 lead after he led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt.
Trailing 4-1, the Rawhide cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Daulton Varsho hit a solo home run.
The Ports extended their lead in the eighth when Greg Deichmann hit a two-run single.
Stockton right-hander Xavier Altamirano (5-5) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings.
