The Delta College softball team spent the weekend battling rain delays, postponements and some of the best players in the state.
But the Mustangs are still alive at the CCCAA State Championships.
Delta beat Sacramento City College 2-0 on Sunday in Bakersfield, a victory which guaranteed the Mustangs will finish the season in the top four in California. But they are still looking for a state crown, and will continue their pursuit at 10 a.m. today against Palomar, weather permitting.
And the weather hasn’t permitted much play in the last few days. All though the rains haven’t been as heavy as those in the Stockton area, it has disrupted the tournament several times.
