STOCKTON - Delta men's basketball coach Rich Ressa stopped short of calling Tuesday's overtime victory over Santa Rosa the best win of the year, but defeating the No. 4-ranked team in Northern California meant a lot to the players.
With its 86-80 win, Delta (10-8, 3-2 Big 8 Conference) snapped Santa Rosa's four-game winning streak and gave the Bear Cubs (13-6, 4-1) their first conference loss.
Delta's women also defeated Santa Rosa, 85-52, giving the Mustangs a sweep at Blanchard Gymnasium.
Delta's Jovian Cormier, sitting with foul trouble in the first half, scored all 19 of his points in the second half to match teammate Mike Anderson's 19 points.
