STOCKTON – This week has been filled with the usual practice sessions and game planning for the Delta College volleyball teams.
But while it looked the same, it was anything but a usual week.
The Mustangs have been busily getting ready for something new to them – the state tournament, and ultimately, the end of their time together as a team.
Delta will play Mira Costa at 11 a.m. Saturday in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association State Women’s Volleyball Championships at Solano College in Fairfield. It is the Mustangs’ first appearance at the state tournament since 2009, and the first for current head coach Molly Mordaunt Hummel.
