STOCKTON - It might sound odd to say about a team that’s had consecutive losses literally once this season, but the Delta baseball team might be firing on all cylinders at exactly the right time in the year.
And it’s got a lot of horsepower.
The Mustangs scored four times in the opening inning, going on to beat Los Medanos 10-5 Saturday morning at Nick Cecchetti Field, just before rain showers set in.
The victory completes a two-game sweep for Delta (39-7) in the CCCAA Northern California Sectionals, sending the defending state champions back to the final four.
