The Delta College softball team’s superb season has been rewarded with a No. 2 seed.
Delta is the second-seeded team in the California Community College Athletic Association NorCal regional playoffs, and hosts No. 15 San Jose City for a first-round series beginning with a 2 p.m. game on Friday at “Bucky” Layland Softball Complex.
Game 2 is at noon Saturday, and if necessary, a decisive Game 3 would follow directly afterward.
The Mustangs (32-5) earned the program’s second Big 8 Conference championship, and first since 2011: when Delta was the state runner-up.
