SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The ninth annual Battle in the Bay Classic took flight Friday as the Pacific men's tennis team was represented by sophomore Tadiwa Chinamo and freshman Daniel Orlita.
The invitational began with doubles as Chinamo and Orlita paired up to take on Heslin and Tinelli from Boise State for the first set of matches on the day. Chinamo and Orlita defeated the Bronco pair 8-2 in a pro-set format. The victory goes down as Orlita's first ever collegiate doubles win.
The win moved Pacific into the quarterfinals where the Tigers took on the fourth-seeded team from Southern California.
