The Pacific women’s basketball team fell behind early, and got into a little trouble in the fourth quarter. But the steadfast Tigers kept calm and kept coming.
The Tigers trailed by six points with a little more than five minutes to play, but rallied to beat the Bulldogs 77-72 in the first round of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) on Wednesday night at Save Mart Center in Fresno. The Tigers (19-12) will await the winner of today’s matchup between Idaho State and Arizona, and the date of the second-round contest has not been determined.
It was the first postseason victory for fourth-year head coach Bradley Davis, who quickly made sure all the credit went to the players.
