A year ago, Valerie Higgins redshirted for the Pacific women’s basketball team after transferring from USC, per NCAA rules.
Among other things, it meant watching an entire season of college basketball from the sidelines.
“It was hard at some points,” Higgins said. “I kept reminding myself that my time would come.”
That time is now for the sophomore. And it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Pacific plays Arizona at 3 p.m. today at the Wildcats’ McKale Center in the second round of the WNIT, after the Tigers won Wednesday’s first-round matchup against Fresno State.
