STOCKTON – Junior pitcher Hailey Reed and freshman Jessica Mabrey kept the Pacific Tigers’ softball team from being swept Sunday to close out the annual Louisville Slugger Invitational with a split of their doubleheader at Bill Simoni Field.
After losing 7-1 to Sacramento earlier in the day, the Tigers defeated the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights 4-2 in the nightcap. The split was the second in as many days against the same teams, and Reed picked up both wins.
Pacific coach Brian Kolze said he wanted to see how Reed would fare in back-to-back starts after striking out a career-best 13 on Saturday.
