STOCKTON — Before taking over as Pacific baseball head coach, Ryan Garko had already accumulated a plethora of experience within the game he loves.
Garko played in the College World Series with Stanford and an American League Championship Series with the Cleveland Indians; Garko competed across the world in Japan in his final professional season; for one season, he was an assistant for his alma mater; and for two years, Garko was the manager of the Los Angeles’ Dodgers Double-A affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
But in his Pacific debut in 2018, Garko learned about the realities of leading athletic programs at small, academically-focused private universities and the parity of the West Coast Conference.
