STOCKTON — After a long nap and an even longer flight, Adily Martucci and the Quinnipiac women's basketball team, with its sizable traveling contingent, descended onto the tarmac of Stockton Metropolitan Airport tired but euphoric.
Quinnipiac, a Cinderella story in every sense of the phrase, arrived on Thursday afternoon for the NCAA women's basketball tournament regional at Stockton Arena.
Martucci, a redshirt senior from Waterford, Connecticut — an hour's drive from Quinnipiac's home of Hamden, Connecticut, which has a population of roughly 60,000 — slept most of the flight and greeted the Northern California sun with glee.
