STOCKTON - The championship game of the 50th men's Delta Holiday Tournament featured the top two teams who had collected the most championships in the event's history, but the host Mustangs couldn't maintain a halftime lead and lost to City College of San Francisco 85-70 on Sunday at Blanchard Gymnasium.
With the victory, CCSF won its 11th title in Stockton, and its seventh over the past eight years. And after winning the CCCAA state championship last season, the Rams opened this year atop the coaches' poll despite having just one returning starter.
CCSF guard Zach Copeland earned MVP honors with 28 points, including four 3-pointers.
